From June 24 to 28, 2026, students from two classes of the third year of Turnov’s Business Academy and Hospitality School, along with our company DETESK s.r.o., embarked on their "Italian journey." We have been intensely collaborating with the Italian market for over thirty years, and thanks to this, the students had the opportunity to visit places they usually only know from textbooks and photos.
During their visit to Verona, the city where one of the world’s largest wine and spirits trade fairs, VINITALY VERONA, takes place annually with Detesk’s participation, our young friends were impressed not only by a walk through the historic streets but also by the atmosphere of the ancient city center.
In the town of Sona, we arranged for the students to visit one of our long-standing Italian customers, a producer of wine, liqueurs, and spirits, the company Gagliano Marcati. Its leading representative, Mr. Pietro Marcati, personally guided us through the production facilities, and we gained further interesting insights during the subsequent discussion. The highlight of the program was a meeting with the mayor of Sona, Mr. Gianfranco Dalla Valentina. He surprised us not only with his extraordinary warmth but also with a tasting of local pasta in the beautiful setting of a local forest park—a pleasant testament to Italian hospitality.
The subsequent dinner at the luxurious Villa Eire was not only a gastronomic experience but also a demonstration for the hospitality students of a professional approach to food preparation, presentation, guest communication, and the speed and style of service.
A real challenge was the hike to Cima Pozzette (2,132 m) with an elevation gain of 400 m. Despite the intense sun, everyone managed it, and the reward was breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The SeaLife aquarium, with over 5,000 marine and freshwater creatures, and the subsequent swim in Lake Garda provided well-deserved refreshment after the demanding program.
Another interesting connection was made thanks to the Polish travel agency Bielik Travel, which, coincidentally, is also one of our customers. They provided not only a luxury bus but also two great, witty drivers who further enriched the trip with their extraordinary musical talents.
In addition to professional knowledge and new experiences, the trip brought the participants many other unforgettable moments.
Arrivederci ragazzi!
